Bookwallah Organization needs people who can create and lead a Team Wallah chapter within their own communities. The Team Wallah leaders will represent Bookwallah , promote the organization within their own network, and help organize fundraising events and parties within their own communities. You can help Bookwallah by collecting gently used or new children’s storybooks for our partner orphanages through book drives at your school, church, or community group.
In the United States, the U.S. post office offers a media mail rate where a 30 lb box (70-100 books) can be shipped for approximately $14 USD. Please ship these boxes to: The Bookwallah Organization at 319 N. Albany Chicago, IL 60612.You can find more information on the Book Donation page. Spread the Bookwallah mission and vision through social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Have a party and invite your friends! Ask them to bring a book and/or a checkbook to donate to Bookwallah Organization.
As Bookwallah Organization grows, we will be looking for individuals who are interested in supporting our programs, building awareness, and raising funds. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete complete the volunteer form and let us know how you would like to help.
If you are interested in making quilts or completing the quilting process in art quilts made by children, please complete the volunteer form and let us know your interest. These quilts are a magical way of bringing color to our Bookwallah libraries, lifting the spirit of the children who live in the orphanage/children's home.
Video Conferencing sessions- If you would like to read to a child across the world from the comfort of your home, please complete the volunteer form and let us know your interest. You will need is a video conferencing capabilities such as SKYPE (with camera) and an internet connection! This program is expected to launch beginning of 2012.
